Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-27
1. What uniqu is
uniqu is a software tool that provides a visitor-facing accessibility widget and a WCAG scanning service for your website. uniqu is a tool, not a legal compliance guarantee. Installing uniqu does not make your website "compliant" with the ADA, Unruh Act, EAA, Section 508, or any other accessibility law. Determining legal compliance requires review by a qualified human, typically an accessibility consultant or attorney.
2. No warranty of legal protection
uniqu does not warrant or guarantee that your website will be free from legal claims, demand letters, or lawsuits related to accessibility. If you have received a demand letter, please consult an attorney.
3. The widget
The visitor-facing widget stores end-user preferences in localStorage on the end user's
device. uniqu collects no personally identifiable information about end users through the widget.
4. The scanner
uniqu's scanner fetches publicly accessible pages of your website and runs axe-core analysis against them. We store the URLs you provide and the HTML snippets of detected accessibility violations, for the purpose of showing you findings.
5. License
Upon purchase, you receive a license to install the widget and run scans on the number of domains your tier permits. Licenses are non-transferable except as expressly permitted.
6. Refunds
We offer a 30-day refund. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of purchase, contact us and we will refund you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, uniqu's total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to existing license holders via email.
Placeholder terms — final terms will be reviewed by an attorney before launch.
